Coordinator of Youth and Family Ministries
We are currently seeking an individual 21yrs+ for a part-time (15hr/week) Coordinator of Youth & Family Ministries. The coordinator will play a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive plan for children, youth, and family ministries and implementing actions necessary to accomplish that plan. People of color and queer-identifying individuals are highly encouraged to apply.
We are looking for a person with:
· Passion for youth and children’s ministry.
· A desire to dream outside the box, a willingness to experiment and be brave enough to fail.
· Excitement to empower children, youth, and families to be in service locally and beyond.
· Skills in interpersonal, written, and social media communication with children, teens and adults.
· Ability to build relationships across generations, to organize, to lead, to conduct meetings, and to team build.
· Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing needs.
· Upbeat and positive attitude.
· Fun loving and enjoys: playing, adventuring and leading by example.
· Creative skills in engaging teens and children.
· Proven ability to nurture young people in a way that inspires their trust and confidence as well as their parents’.
· Ability to welcome, accept, and involve young people who are unfamiliar with the church.
· Accept children and youth and the gift that is diversity of race, culture, ability, sexuality, gender, and perspective, and provide a safe space for them both physically and spiritually.
Scope of Responsibility:
· Nursery (1 - pre k) oversight, Leading programs for children K - 5, Middle & High School Youth and their families.
· Main responsibilities include visioning, relationship building with children, youth, parents, volunteers, adults, and church staff, program leadership growth and development, and recruitment, training, and encouragement of adult volunteers.
