Oak Grove United Methodist Church

 "Connecting people with Jesus
and each other to better our world"

Come to Oak Grove UMC
and get connected!

Thank you for your interest in our church. We hope our website will answer some of the questions you may have about us and that you'll decide to visit us soon!

Newcomers are invited to join us in our Fellowship Hall for refreshments, which are served for at least 30 minutes both before and after our 10:30am worship service each Sunday. There you're welcome to mingle with church members and ask any questions you may have about our church. If you would like, one of our members could accompany you to the service. We welcome the opportunity to tell you about all we have to offer!

WE ARE:

• A WORSHIPPING COMMUNITY
We worship together each Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. Our services, which usually last about an hour, are spirited and traditional, focusing on participation through the spoken word, music, and prayer. Attendance has been averaging 100-120. Dress tends to be casual, but if you like to dress up a bit that's fine, too! Holy Communion is served once a month, usually on the first Sunday of the month, and everyone is welcome to partake.

• A LEARNING COMMUNITY
Please visit our GROUPS/ACTIVITIES section to read about the learning opportunities, groups and other activities we're currently offering.

• A CARING COMMUNITY
Our church was founded in 1907 and we believe we have a big mission to fulfill in our community and in the world at large. We care about all people. We support many ministries that are in mission to our community, our country and our world, including helping to feed and clothe people in need locally. We strive to make the world a better place through our service and support. (Visit our OUTREACH/MISSION page for information about some of the ways we reach out to help others.) We also care about each other. Our "Friendly Visitors" look in on members of our congregation who are ill or homebound. We visit those who are hurting. We offer a caring heart to you.

• A COMMUNITY THAT CARES ABOUT KIDS
Our youth gather, usually weekly, for fellowship, learning, and service. Sunday School classes for children ages 5-11 are available during most of our worship services (except during the summer) and childcare is available for children under age 5. Children are also always welcome in our sanctuary during worship.

• A MUSICAL COMMUNITY
We celebrate our Lord's gift of music with three musical groups that regularly participate in our worship services: our Chancel Choir, Chime Choir, and Praise Team. See our MUSIC page for more information. Join us and make a Joyful Noise!

WE ARE A WARM AND CARING CHURCH AND THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOU AMONG US ... in our congregation on Sundays, in our Bible study groups, our women's groups, our youth group, our choirs, or wherever you're comfortable. Our Vision Statement is: "Christ is calling us to be real people growing an inclusive community: living, loving, learning, serving and worshipping together." We will welcome you and invite you to join us in our efforts to proclaim the love of God.

Come ... join us!
