Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors
(UMW and WINGS activities and more!)

ALL of our women's groups welcome newcomers, and all women who attend our church (not just OGUMC members) are welcome to participate. Check our WEEKLY SCHEDULE or CALENDAR web pages (also our Sunday bulletins and monthly Tower Signal newsletters) for meeting times of other groups whose participants tend to be primarily women (for example, our Quilters and our Book Club).
QUESTIONS? Questions about our United Methodist Women (UMW) activities may be directed to Donna Metcalf. Questions about our WINGS ("Women In God's Service") activities may be directed to Lydia Henry.
Please note that our UMW Susanna Wesley Circle takes a summer break; it doesn't meet in the months of July or August.

TUESDAY, JUNE 20  •  11:30 a.m.
Location: The Commons at Willamette View
All interested women (not just Oak Grove UMC members) are invited to enjoy this luncheon that our Susanna Wesley Circle hosts each June before the group takes a break from its usual monthly meetings for the summer. Stay tuned for the luncheon details (menu, cost, etc.). For more information about the Circle, see the UMW bulletin board in our Fellowship Hall or visit our Susanna Wesley Circle page. If you need directions or a ride, or have other questions, contact Donna Metcalf (503-655-9049).
Location: Alton Collins Retreat Center (32867 SE Highway 211, Eagle Creek, OR 97022)
Anyone may participate in this longtime annual UMW summer event. Feel free to invite friends or relatives. Men are welcome! The three studies offered in 2017 will be:
  • Spiritual Growth study: "Living as a Covenant Community"
  • Social Issue study: "Climate Justice: A Call to Hope and Action"
  • Geographic study: "The Missionary Conferences of the United Methodist Church in the United States"
Each study takes place over the course of two consecutive days and is offered twice — on Thursday/Friday and again on Saturday/Sunday — so you may sign up for either one class or two (but not all three) during the four-day event. Options include staying overnight or commuting, and meals are available. The cost varies depending on the options chosen. Scholarships to help cover the cost are available through our UMW group. Questions about scholarships, registration, details, etc.? Contact Donna Metcalf (503-655-9049).
