Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors
If you have any questions about WINGS that aren't answered below, please contact the church office or the group's current leader, Lydia Henry.
WINGS meets every 2-3 months — usually on Saturday mornings, because some participants work on weekdays — for activities that combine service to our church or community with fellowship and often food ... what we call "Fellowship over Food"!
WINGS doesn't have "members", per se (although there are certainly "regulars"). We refer to our group as "organic", by which we mean that any woman who wishes to participate in any particular WINGS activity is welcome to do so. "MINGS" (male spouses/partners) are sometimes invited to participate!
For several years one of our WINGS projects has been to lead our church in assembling Health Kits to send to UMCOR for distribution to victims of disasters (floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.) in the U.S. and beyond. WINGS solicits donations to purchase the needed supplies for as many kits as possible, then on "UMCOR Sunday" (which is usually in March or April) everyone is invited to help assemble the kits after worship.
